The Black Rock is suited to almost any type of management, idealy suited to the smaller garden environment or the full blown commercial freerange keeper
Their thick rich plumage not only protects them from all weather conditions but they have been observed to be less susceptible to Red Mite. They love the outside, come rain, snow or shine. This together with their highly developed natural immune system means they have the potential to have a long productive life
Being very docile they are not easily stressed, e.g. by over flying things and as a result this makes them an easy bird to keep to organic standards.
Eggs (Mid Brown) 280+ in the first year and persistently good throughout life. Egg, shell, and shell colour quality is persistently good.
BEWARE OF IMITATIONS
Black Rock chicks originate only from Muirfield Hatchery so beware of imitations and look-alikes which may cause confusion, some unscrupulous dealers are selling other lookalike birds as Black Rocks
